You are a necromancer. You don't fight. Your horde does.

A drowned fishing village is being dragged into black water by the dead. You start with almost nothing: three skeletons and your spells. Everything you kill leaves a corpse, and every corpse can stand back up on your side.

How it plays

  • Raise. Pick a minion type and every ten seconds you raise as many as your corpses, souls, mana and command cap allow. Skeletons from a single corpse, flesh ogres from a pile of them, wraiths from the souls that drift up from the dead (walk over and gather them before they fade).
  • Command. You don't steer units. You set the horde's posture: Push it at a point, pull it into a Ball around you, or Spread it into a wide ring. Every posture trades something.
  • Choose. Survive a wave and take one of three cards: more command cap, a sharper minion, or a rite that changes how your dead live and die. The rest are lost.
  • Survive the Leviathan. Thirteen waves in, something vast rises from the mire and crushes those who huddle too close together.
  • Keep one. A few of your raised come back touched, glowing gold. Win, and you may entomb one survivor in your crypt, revealed with a name and a strange mutation. Veterans rise with you in later runs.

Features

  • About 15 minutes a run: 13 waves and a boss
  • Pick three minion types to field (and unlock a fourth once the village is saved)
  • 22 mutations for your veterans, and a crypt to keep your favorite few
  • Full controller support
  • Your progress saves in the browser, with a backup you can download

This is a beta

The visuals are placeholders drawn by the game itself; the final art will be hand-made. There's music, but no sound effects yet. What's here is the core of the game, and I'd love to know how it plays.
